Keys
All Heavymatica keys are in the Heavymatica category of Options → Controls → Key Binds. Change any of them there. Keys without a default are “not bound” until you give them one. The same keys and defaults apply on Fabric and NeoForge.
Sharing keys with vanilla
Section titled “Sharing keys with vanilla”Most keys only act while you hold the remote (a stick by default). That means you can bind them to keys vanilla already uses: while you hold the remote, the Heavymatica key acts and the vanilla action doesn’t; without the remote, the vanilla action works as usual.
Keys of other mods are a different story. If one key does two things, check Options → Controls for a key another mod also uses, and move one of them. See Compatibility.
Shift variants
Section titled “Shift variants”Some keys do something different while you hold Shift. This keeps working after you rebind them, since Heavymatica checks Shift when you press the key:
- Rotate placement: Shift rotates the other way.
- Cycle layer mode: Shift cycles back.
- Move placement keys: Shift moves 10 blocks at a time instead of 1.

The When it acts column tells you when a key does something:
- In the game, with no screen open: anywhere in a world, whatever you hold.
- While you hold the remote: only with the remote in your main hand.
- Without it while the selected placement is locked: the layer keys also work without the remote once you have locked the selected placement. On a locked placement, the up and down arrows and numpad + and - change the layers instead of moving it.
- Without it while a placement is selected: the wheel and its actions also work without the remote while a placement is selected, but not while you are capturing.
A key that seems to do nothing usually doesn’t apply right now: you aren’t holding the remote, no placement is selected, or the placement is locked and can’t move. See Troubleshooting.
