Troubleshooting
The game doesn’t start, or Heavymatica is missing
Section titled “The game doesn’t start, or Heavymatica is missing”- Wrong jar. There is one jar for Fabric (
heavymatica-fabric-…jar) and one for NeoForge (heavymatica-neoforge-…jar). A jar for the other loader is not loaded. Put the one for your loader intomods. - Fabric API missing. On Fabric, Heavymatica needs Fabric API. Without it,
Fabric names it as a missing mod before the game starts. Put it into
modstoo. - Wrong Minecraft version. Heavymatica is built for one Minecraft version. Check the version on the download.
See Install.
There is no Sign in button
Section titled “There is no Sign in button”The Heavymatica Cloud is in alpha and may not be open to the public yet. Until it is, the library shows your local schematics only, with no Sign in and no error. Everything that doesn’t need the cloud still works.
Also check the Heavymatica Cloud setting in the Library section of the settings:
- Never hides the cloud completely. Set it back to Automatic.
- Always shows Sign in without asking whether the cloud is open. Use it only if you have been asked to test the cloud.
If the library says “This Heavymatica is too old for the cloud. Please update the mod.”, install the newest version.
The library says it is offline
Section titled “The library says it is offline”“Offline: showing the last known list” means the cloud couldn’t be reached. Your local schematics and every cloud version you used before still work, since they are in the cache. Versions you never downloaded say “Not available offline: needs a connection”. Check your internet connection and click Refresh in the library.
Sign-in fails
Section titled “Sign-in fails”The game says why:
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Cloud sign-in needs a Microsoft-authenticated Minecraft account. | Start the game with your Microsoft account. Offline-mode games can’t sign in. |
| Mojang’s session service is unavailable. | Mojang’s servers have a problem. Try again later. |
| Heavymatica Cloud is unreachable. | Check your connection, or try again later. Your local schematics still work. |
| Sign-in failed unexpectedly. | Try again later. If it keeps happening, report it. |
If the library says “Signed out, sign in again”, your session ended. Click Sign in again. If you start the game with a different Minecraft account, you are signed out until you sign in with that account.
Ghosts are not visible
Section titled “Ghosts are not visible”- Opacity. Ghosts may be almost see-through. Pick a higher Opacity on the wheel, or raise Ghost opacity in the settings.
- Layers. The placement may show only some of its layers. See Layers.
- In-hand filter. With the in-hand filter on, only ghosts of the block you hold show fully, blocks from your hotbar show dimmed, and the rest are hidden. Turn it off on the wheel.
- Already built. On a locked placement, positions where the right block already stands show no ghost. See Comparison.
- Block budget. Heavymatica draws at most 300,000 ghost blocks across all placements. Placements beyond that show only their outline. Raise Ghost block budget in the Performance section of the settings, or remove placements you don’t need.
- Unknown blocks. Blocks the game doesn’t know, for example from a mod you don’t have installed, show as missing-texture cubes. If you set the wheel to “Unknown blocks: hidden”, or turned off Show unknown blocks in the settings, they don’t show at all.
- Shader packs. Ghosts stay visible with Iris shader packs. See Compatibility.
A key does nothing
Section titled “A key does nothing”Most Heavymatica keys only act in certain situations. The keys page lists when each one acts.
- You aren’t holding the remote. Most keys need the remote in your main hand. It is a stick unless you changed Remote item in the settings.
- No placement is selected. The wheel and its action keys need a selected placement when you don’t hold the remote.
- The placement is locked. A locked placement doesn’t move, rotate, mirror or get removed by keys. On a locked placement, the up and down arrows and numpad + and - change the layers instead. Unlock it on the wheel first. See Placement.
- The key is not bound. Several keys, such as Toggle Easy Place, have no default. Bind them in Options → Controls → Key Binds.
- Another mod uses the key. If a key does two things, or the wrong thing, look in Options → Controls for another mod on the same key. Iris, for example, uses K to toggle shaders.
Changes to the settings file are ignored
Section titled “Changes to the settings file are ignored”On Fabric, the settings file is read when the game starts. Edits you make while the game runs take effect after a restart. Use the settings screen in the game to change things at once. See Settings.
Finding the log
Section titled “Finding the log”The game writes its log to logs/latest.log in your game folder. When something goes wrong, the lines mentioning
Heavymatica there usually say why.
Reporting a bug
Section titled “Reporting a bug”Report bugs at github.com/Dirnei/heavymatica/issues. It helps a lot if you include:
- your loader (Fabric or NeoForge) and the Heavymatica and Minecraft versions
- what you did, what you expected and what happened
- your
logs/latest.log
